Originally a maze was called a labyrinth and according to legend one of the first was built for King Minos of Crete as a prison for the monster called the Minotaur. Theseus, the son of a Greek king, eventually killed the Minotaur, solved the puzzle of the labyrinth and escaped.
Today the maze still exists in the form of puzzles which are fun to solve over and over again. This program provides all the maze puzzles you could wish for and offers you the opportunity to solve each one. Each time you select the NEW MAZE button the program will generate a new maze. Use the mouse to click at the entrance to the maze at the top of the screen. Then drag the mouse thru the maze to reach the opening at the bottom of the screen.
You're bound to find yourself lost now and again and you can release the mouse at any point. Simply go back to a place you'd like to begin again. When you click the mouse to start again at this point the program will erase the trail which led you to a dead end and you'll be able to continue. If you find yourself completely lost you can press the SOLUTION button and the program will provide you with a path to the exit.
The SIZE button will help you find a maze that is just right for you. It is a rocker switch. If you click on one side the number of blocks in the next maze will go up ( and the maze will become more complex). Clicking on the other side of the switch will decrease the size and complexity of the next maze you call for using the NEW MAZE button.
